If the style is selected and the in-text citations still do not appear correctly, you may need to edit your output style in EndNote. EndNote output styles can be edited in a matter of minutes.If the in-text citations do not match the journal's guidelines, check your citation style as shown in step one of this guide.Identify how the journal would like the in-text citations to appear. Review the journal's guidelines and/or a current issue of the journal.Do they match with the author's guidelines? Most in-text citations will appear in one of three ways: 1) a superscript number after the citation 2) a number in parentheses or brackets 3) the author name and year.
